Abstract

Credit Payment Practices in Buying and Selling Teak Wood at the Berkah Jati Mlonggo Jepara Trading Business. This research analyzes the cash and credit payment system in the practice of buying and selling teak wood at the Berkah Jati Mlonggo Jepara Trading Business using qualitative research methods with a case study approach. Cash payments offer immediate liquidity and reduce receivables risk, but limit transaction volume. In contrast, credit payments can increase sales and customer loyalty, but require strict risk management to avoid payment defaults. Effective credit risk management, including assessing credit worthiness, establishing credit limits, credit monitoring, and a robust collection process, is critical to maintaining a company's financial health. The research results show the need to adopt automatic credit monitoring technology, increase staff training, and regular evaluation of credit policies to optimize profits and maintain financial stability. The case study approach provides in-depth insight into credit risk management practices and challenges in companies.
