Abstract

Development of Social Skills for Isolated Students through Personal-Social Guidance Methods at SMP Negeri 5 Banguntapan. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of personal social guidance methods, both directly and indirectly, in developing the social skills of isolated students at SMP Negeri 5 Banguntapan. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection methods through interviews, observation and documentation. Direct methods include individual counseling and social skills training aimed at providing intensive and targeted guidance to students. Meanwhile, the indirect method involves monitoring student interactions in group activities and observing daily behavior to build social skills gradually. The research results show that the direct method has a quick impact in improving students' communication skills and self-confidence, while the indirect method contributes to creating a social environment that supports the development of social skills on an ongoing basis. Based on these findings, it is recommended that schools integrate these two methods in guidance and counseling programs more systematically to optimize the development of isolated students' social skills.
