Principles of Maqashid Syariah in Islamic Guidance and Counseling: A Literature Review. This article discusses the principles of maqashid sharia as a philosophical basis in Islamic guidance and counseling, its implementation in counseling practice, and the challenges and solutions for its integration. Using library research methods, data were collected from books, journal articles, online news, and newspapers that were analyzed through a content analysis approach. The results of the study indicate that the principles of maqashid sharia—protecting religion (hifz ad-din), soul (hifz an-nafs), intellect (hifz al-aql), descendants (hifz an-nasl), and property (hifz al-mal)—provide a holistic framework to support clients' spiritual, emotional, and social well-being. However, the implementation of these principles faces challenges, such as lack of counselor understanding and limited practical guidance. Therefore, counselor education based on maqashid, module development, and multidisciplinary collaboration are needed so that Islamic counseling can be implemented effectively in accordance with sharia values. This article offers theoretical and practical insights for the development of Islamic counseling based on maqashid sharia in the future
